After a new installation or when your current license is about to expire, you will receive a pop-up window asking for a password. 1) Select the option for "Network License."
2) Enter the license server name.
- for version 4.x use: mathematica4.physics.ucsb.edu
- for version 5.x use: mathematica5.physics.ucsb.edu
- for version 6.x use: mathematica6.physics.ucsb.edu
3) Click OK
4) You can now use mathematica.
1) Generate a MathID from your local installation.
2) On the next window you will see a MathID. You need to generate a password for this MathID.1) Start Mathematica.
2) On the "Personalize Mathematica" pop-up window, select "Single Machine."
3) Enter the following:4) Click OK
- Name: <Enter your name>
- Organization: UCSB Physics
- License Number: (Use the one from PCS)
- Click the "Web" button.
- After the web page comes up, select "I want to register a product and generate a password."
- Click Continue.
- If the web page does not come up, then open a web browser and go to: https://register.wolfram.com.
- Enter the license number (obtained from PCS) and click the Continue button.
- Select "I want to register a product and generate a password" and click Continue.
3) The next page will be the Product Registration page, enter the following:NOTE: Software Depot will provide PCS with a list of all passwords generated using this method. This will help us determine usage and how to distribute costs for next year.1) Select the version you are using.4) On the Mathematica Site Registration page, enter all of this information correctly.
2) Enter your MathID and hostname.3) Scroll to the bottom and click the Continue button.
- If you have a Macintosh, Windows, or Linux operating system, use the single-user math ID option.
- Enter your MathID and machine name (one per line).
- If you have a Unix/Solaris machine, use the single-machine option.
- Enter the MathID, machine name, and select the number of processes.
- Be sure to check the box for each host.
1) Title, First name, Last name: Enter your personal information5) Check your email for a message from Wolfram. The password will be sent to the email address you provded on the registration form.
2) Organization: UCSB
3) Department: Physics
4) Lab or Facility: Enter your PI's name
5) Email address: Enter your email address (the password will be sent to this address)
6) Phone: Enter your work phone number
7) Phone type: Work
8) Verify the information and click Continue.6) Go back to Mathematica and enter the password. You can copy and paste it from the email message.
7) Click OK.
8) You can now use Mathematica.
Passwords for the 2007-08 license cycle will expire on April 1, 2008.
Shortly before that, PCS will contact users on how to renew their licenses.
