Weekly Unofficial Meeting:
Welcome to UCSB's Society of Physics Students! Spring: the time when you are most happy to be going to school in Santa Barbara.
Spring quarter will bring more Movie+Pizza nights, an awesome few hours at El Sitio every Monday night, and hopefully
a slew of other events. We're making plans for a trip to Vandenberg Airforce base, more circuit board outreach events, and an
end-of-the-year BBQ. We will also be initiating our Sigma Pi Sigma (national SPS membership) group and GRE review sessions. So keep posted! |

The Society of Physics Students
is a social and academic club for physicists, people who like physicists,
and physics enthusiasts. Everyone is welcome! SPS has meetings throughout the year
that usually involve free food and some kind of activity (shooting marshmallows
from PVC pipe and building geodesic domes out of twinkies, o name
a few). We also put on large scale events such as the JPL field trip,
Shadow a Mad Scientist Day, and the annual Movie Marathon. Although largely a
social club, we also host academic events such as grad school seminars, the Law for Science
Students night, and GRE review sessions.

| SPS in the News | ||
| We've got a little article in this year's departmental newsletter, Inside Physics . | ||
| SPS Merchandise | ||
| Mac designed the winning logo for 2005-2006's SPS paraphernalia. It's still available on the CafePress site. The logo does not mention UC Santa Barbara directly as that gets us into all sorts of messes about licencing from the UC Regents. There is a small markup on all goods (typically less than $1) which goes directly to the SPS account. The money will be spent on things we can't get grants for -- prizes, parties, supplying the End of the Universe, and more. | ||
| This site is under construction! | ||
| Please check back later (much later...?) for updates. We'll be adding new stuff, including pages with academic information, more about our officers, updates on our graduates, and a photo gallery. | ||
