Probing New Physics with the Higgs Boson at the LHC
Dr. Ian Low
UC Irvine
The main priority at the LHC is to look for the Higgs boson and, once the Higgs is found, determine its various properties. We illusrate through two examples why the Higgs is often a very useful probe for new physics. In particular, we discuss how measurements in the Higgs sector alone could provide access to interesting and important information on the underlying physics which would otherwise be difficult to obtain at the LHC.
