Abstract:

Brain research - and brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) research in particular - is going through a hugely exciting phase. Natasha Lepore, Asst Prof in Radiology at USC and Children’s Hospital LA, specializes in mathematical and numerical methods to study brain anatomy and function though MRI, and will describe the explosion of new results in the field. She holds an PhD in theoretical physics from Harvard in quantum chaos in quantum billiards living on the plane and the pseudosphere, and will describe her path to working in neuroimaging.
