Saturn's satellite Enceladus displays a bewildering array of thermal activity due to tidal heating associated with its 2:1 mean motion resonance with Dione.

I will address the following questions:

Why is this activity centered around the South Pole?

How did the fractures that cross this region form?

Is Enceladus in a steady-state?

What have we learned about the interior of Saturn?
