1 Introduction

Welcome to the wonderful world of the Baker Lighting System, presumably if you are reading this you have some interest in trying to use the system or perhaps you are just bored out of your mind and just found this lying around.

I will assume the former, and so hopefully this will be of some use to you. I'm breaking this tome into easy to handle sections which will hopefully make sense on their own, so read them in whatever order you wish. The sections will cover areas of lighting at Baker that I think are important, including: who to find to help you, who else to find to help you, planning ahead of time, what each piece of the lighting system is, preventative maintenance before you set anything up, where to do big maintenance if you find something severely wrong (or if you just want a few new bulbs), hanging the bars, hanging the mini-coffins, hanging the lights and wires, running the control console, taking everything down, renting to other groups, and finances. That is a longer list of things than even I thought it would be, but this should forewarn you that lighting is not going to be a quick and dirty thing that you can just whip off overnight. May everything go well with your endevours.
