The mini-coffins are the heart of the lighting system in that they take in this powerful 3 phase electricity from the power distributor box, turn it into 1 phase 120V power for lights, and decide how much power to send to the light based on the input from the control cables coming from the control board.
As the heart of the system they are also the most expensive individually, so treat them with care. They cost a little over $2000 each and they are much nicer than the evil wooden coffin they replaced.
You can just leave the 3 phase power cables hanging out of them since they are a pain to take in and out, and since you should never have to mess with them anyways.
Also leave the funny looking two-fers hanging out of the six plugs on the back as well. In addition to breaking each of the six plugs into two, they also switch from an incompatible 20A twist-lok plug to the 15A twist-lok that Baker uses, so it won't do you any good to take them out, because you will only have to put them right back in again. And as with everything else, they were a lot harder to put in than it looks.
If you get a chance to get grounding wires, these will be placed in the socket marked ``Ground'' inside the case. Remove the many Phillips screws holding the cover closed and put in the wire. There is also a modification to the fan cooling system that I made which I will want you to check in the preventative maintenance step coming up in a section or two.
These and many other things should be stored in the Baker Theater Closet. This is located behind the TV room on the fourth floor of the second entrance of old wing. You will require 2 keys beyond the normal Baker exterior key to get here. You will need the key to Permanent Storage, and then the key to the Closet itself.
