9.1.2 Putting the ropes up

Well now that you know all of the knots this should be relatively easy. First position your ladder or whatever underneath one of the wires hanging down from the ceiling. You will soon discover that some of them are just bare loops of wire whereas other are a loop of wire around a steel loop. The steel loop helps prevent the wire from just slicing through the rope, which clearly would be very very bad. For the ones that don't have a steel loop you are going to need to bring something up with you to protect the rope. The item you will need is a large tear shaped piece of steel that has a channel in which the wire rests; they are called a wire saddle. You will want to put one of these into the wire loop before you start tying the rope up in there. Now all you need to do is tie your bowline knot and move onto the next rope.
