9.2 Bars

You should now have at least three ropes hanging from the ceiling for every major bar that you are about to put up. Assemble the long bars by slipping a skinny bar inside a slightly fatter bar. Make sure there is at least four feet if not more of overlap and then seal them together with duct tape.

Start by lifting up one end of the bar, either by resting it on top of the hi-lift, or by holding it in one hand as you climb up a ladder. Get it up to about the height of the small light bulbs on the chandelier (approximately you should judge what the best height for your set up will be). Then all you need to do is tie the knot described above. Go to the other end of the bar and repeat with someone watching so that you get the bar level. Finally tie the final rope in the center to help support the weight so it doesn't sag.

Once you have all the major bars set up you can put a final crossbar resting on two of the major bars over the center of the stage. This bar should be secured in place by lashing it to the two bars it is resting upon.
