How to setup secure IMAP

  1. Configure your email client to use SMTP Port 587 at mail.physics.ucsb.edu with SMTP Authentication and STARTTLS.

  2. Configure your email client to use SMTP Port 465 at mail.physics.ucsb.edu with SMTP Authentication and SSL (This option is recommended only for those clients that are unable to send email via port 587, like Outlook Express and some versions of Outlook.)
