FOUNDATIONS OF FUTURE COLLIDER DISCOVERIES

The Large Hadron Collider sited at CERN is scheduled to commence operations in just over three years' time. It will likely usher in a new era of discoveries in particle physics. I'll discuss some of the prospects for discoveries as well as the preparatory work being done by theorists to prepare for the new era. I'll include some of the highlights of the opening conference (Jan 12-16) for the Collider Physics workshop currently being held at the KITP.
