It is highly recommended that you take courses in differential and integral calculus prior to matriculation.
Math placement information can be found here. Must take the Math Placement Exam with no prior calculus experience.
PHYS 8 is strongly recommended unless you recieved a score of 5 on the Advanced Placement Calculus BC exam.
Please take math courses in the following order: MATH 2A/3A, 2B/3B, 4A, 6A, 4B and 6B.
PHYS 29 Is offered every quarter.
Science electives that may apply towards the major: ASTRO 1, 2, CHEM 1A or 2A, 1B or 2B, EARTH 2, 9, 11, 20, EEMB 22 or W22, MCDB 20, PSTAT 10
Taking an upper division course to waive a lower division course is not guaranteed. Please speak to a physics faculty or administrative adviser about requirements.
