Astrophysics and Cosmology
Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope (LCOGT) network, to which UCSB faculty and students have access, is a global network of robotic telescopes for studying variable, transient, and moving objects. Current research includes supernovae, gamma-ray bursts, exoplanet studies of many types, asteroids, active galactic nuclei, and stellar astrophysics.
My own research interests are quasar and agn physics, galaxy evolution, and stellar populations. A current large project I am participating in is a search for supermassive black hole binaries.
