Title: Quantum Computing for Otherwise Unsolvable Problems: Systems and Applications Update

Abstract: In this update from the Google Quantum AI Lab, I describe our ongoing mission to build quantum computers capable of tackling otherwise unsolvable problems. This presentation outlines our recently updated roadmap, highlighting how progress in algorithms, error correction, and computer architecture has significantly reduced the resources required for applications in areas such as quantum simulation and cryptanalysis. I will explain why Google Quantum AI is expanding its research to include neutral atom quantum computing alongside our superconducting efforts, exploiting synergies between hardware efforts built on natural versus artificial atoms. To close, I will examine the convergence we anticipate between AI and quantum computing, and how their intersection will accelerate scientific breakthroughs.
