The Department of Physics at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured faculty position at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The Department is seeking candidates working in theoretical particle physics, with a preferred emphasis on phenomenology.

The Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics (KITP) at the University of California, Santa Barbara seeks applications for a Permanent Member with a start date as soon as January 1, 2024. The KITP contributes to all areas of theoretical physics through its programs, conferences, and the research of permanent members, postdoctoral scholars, and graduate fellows. The finalist recommended for hire will be offered a joint appointment as a member of the KITP and as a tenured ladder faculty member of the University of California, Santa Barbara's Physics Department.

Salary range: The posted UC system-wide salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 24B for the salary range at UCSB. A reasonable estimated full-time rate for this position at 100% time is $52,600 to $56,000/ year.
