Title: Dressed Supersymmetric Black Holes and R-Charge Concentration
Abstract:
Grey galaxies and dual dressed black holes have been proposed as new supersymmetric states in a range of holographic setups. In these constructions, a BPS black hole is accompanied by additional dressing degrees of freedom. Standard supersymmetric black holes typically exist only on a codimension-one locus in the BPS charge space, but the dressed constructions suggest that BPS states may extend beyond this constraint surface. At the same time, arguments based on black hole chaos suggest that supersymmetric states are sharply concentrated in specific R-charge sectors. I will comment on the current evidence for these dressed solutions and discuss the tension with R-charge concentration. I will then describe ongoing work using an SYK-like toy model in which dressing modes enlarge the BPS sector in a decoupling limit, while interactions remove part of this enlarged supersymmetric sector.
