Trained as a physical chemist, I joined the physics department in the summer of 2006 after postdoctoral work in the group of Prof. Mattanjah de Vries, first at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and then here at UCSB. In addition to setting up demonstrations for instructors to use for their classes, I maintain, repair and improve the demonstrations, and also build new ones. I also write material for, and maintain, the web site that contains the catalogue of over 400 demonstrations. Otherwise, I aid the instructors in any way I can. During the recent campus shutdown, I made 96 videos for use in online classes, which are available on YouTube. I also work closely with the other members of the Instructional Laboratory Group, and assist in various tasks associated with running and maintaining the instructional laboratories.
My work involves the improvement of existing demonstrations and the development of new ones.
