Neha Anil Kumar

Biography

Neha Anil Kumar is a KITP Postdoctoral Scholar at UC Santa Barbara. She received her Ph.D. in Physics from Johns Hopkins University in 2026, working with Prof. Marc Kamionkowski on topics in theoretical cosmology and gravitational-wave physics. She earned her B.A. in Physics from Princeton University in 2021.

Research Description

Neha's research spans cosmology and gravitational-wave physics. She designs statistical tools to combine cosmic microwave background and galaxy observations, probing the Universe from galactic to cosmic scales and from its earliest moments to today. These tools help address questions ranging from the physics of the early Universe to how ordinary matter is distributed around galaxies. She also adapts these cosmological techniques to characterize the gravitational-wave background.
